PEACE IS LIKE A RIVER FLOWING
                                                                                From Pam

As I sat in our fire circle,  I imagined the energy of peace that we experienced from Bali flowing to America.

The image that came to mind was of the energy flowing like a sine wave with ups and down and a few turns along the way.

The words  peace is like a river flowing kept repeating itself in my mind and gave me  an entry point to anchor this energy.

I asked my self what does that mean as I continue to ponder this and reflect what it means for me.

Peace is like a river flowing

I noticed the other day that my Mother was irritating me and causing me some frustration.  She wouldn’t listen to me about some health issues she is having.  After all, I’m a nurse and I was trying to take control of the situation.

Later my awareness was that my frustration was actually anger and that it was all about control.

In controlling others, it’s like trying to push the river.  It’s not physically possible anyway because the river is flowing in the opposite direction utilizing the laws of nature to find that place of balance.

Sometimes we dam rivers up which would be like stuffing our emotions.  We all know how well that works. Overtimes it cause dis-ease within us and the dam can only hold so much pent up emotions before the dam breaks and the flood of emotions with it.  Not a pretty scene.

When a bolder is in the path of the river it finds another way to the left or to the right to get around the obstacle.  The river stands the test of time and will wear away the hardest of surface.  Remember there is an eternity before us, the river cares not how long it takes.

So the peace is like a river flowing does makes sense for when I am at peace I am not reacting in frustration, anger, anxiety and a variety of other descriptive words about how I feel and react to life.

Peace is a river that is flowing and I am free when the river of peace is flowing within me.

Post Two - WHY BALI

Whenever the name of Bali is mentioned it elitists a response of an image of an Island of Paradise, the Garden of Eden and even the dream of what it would be like to live in heaven on earth.   When you have visited Bali there is the awareness that Bali is truly an island of peace and calm surrounded by a sea of chaos.

(The Golden Phoenix Rising)

Throughout the island the Balinese, Javanese, Muslims, Chinese, Christians and others all live in harmony from their hearts. What better role models so model our life after is you are seeking to live in peace.

(Lake Buyan)

When many imagine Bali as a Garden of Eden, where they see nature at its finest with beautiful flowers and fruit growing without effort. People are living in harmony with nature and each other on their island of calm.

(Flowers are a  symbol of their connection to God and their ancestors)

(Temple Ulu Danau, Lake Bratan)

When a Balinese is asked, "What is the purpose of life," they all have a similar answer.

To live a good enough life so that when I die I will be instantly reborn as a Balinese.  If I lead a really good life I will be instantly reborn into the same village and if it is a really, really good life I will be reborn into the same family compound.

(Prayers in the Family Temple)

Even though we say that the Balinese belief is to be of service first to God, then family and then community, in reality their spiritual life is so intertwined with family and community it can not be separated.  They simply see the reflection of God in all that is, thus in service to other is in fact service to God.

We all have been expecting the "Big Shift" of 2012 that was to bring peace. It is not what we first thought or of what many have written about.  It has not passed us by. Bali is an island of consciousness that tells us that the shift has happened for them and it is now spreading to the entire world.

For our experience the Bali model for peace works in Bali and in our  life.

We invite you to come along on this journey and discover where these steps will take you in your personal journey to peace and self-discovery.  Even though we can not see what is around the corner trust that all is in Divine Order.

About Pam and David

Since early childhood David has had a dream of living in a world where men and women live in peace and harmony with each other and all of life. From time to time he would catch glimpses of this world and how to move into it. Each time he would share this belief many would say he was a dreamer and this could never happen in real life. He never gave up his dream.

In 1991 after two heart attacks David decided that things had to change.  He left his role of an architect  contractor and moved to Bali where he found that everyone lived as is they were living in the Garden of Eden on earth...in peace with others and with all of life. With the Balinese as his role model he learned how to live in peace with life......Stage One of The Journey of peace.

In 1999 David returned to Florida where he met Pam who had retired from her nursing career in 1998. She was on a similar quest through the Native American model of life.  Upon meeting they made a commitment to create a Sacred Union Relationships committed to learning how to live in peace with each other and all of life.........Stage Two of The journey of Peace.  They were married in Bali in 2005 in a High Balinese Sacred Union Wedding....man, woman and God.

They return to Bali each year to deepen their connection to each other and the energies and people of Bali.  Their  focus of  life is now one of service to God, as they help others to find the path back to The Garden.

Let the Journey begin.

Bon voyage,

Pam and David
